Design / Safety
These are not hardware store heat tapes!
Since 1988 Heat-Line has been developing advance freeze protection systems using modern technologies. There is no more need to wrap on (pitch or spiral) constant wattage cables on small pipes. All Heat-Line heating cable products are designed to be very adaptable and flexible for various pipe sizes and applications. They are safe, easy to use and install.

Energy Efficient
For rural and farm applications Heat-Line® has developed products to specifically address the demands and stress of water supply systems so that water is always on and always available! Heat-Line Systems are so energy efficient they can save up to 80% in electricity costs* over old technologies while providing incredible reliability in the coldest conditions. While this is a very strong statement, the justification is simple. Heat-Line systems can all be insulated with thermal insulation and once we do this we only require a tiny fraction of applied heat energy to do the same job. It's like a properly insulated home.

Knowledge
Company founders are experienced with the challenges of rural living; have their own barns, horses and equestrian center. Heat-Line is well staffed and able to provide information and advice on every application in order to assist in correct product selection.

Price
Heat-Line's advanced technologies come at a higher capital cost but don't be fooled. These systems are so energy efficient. the initial costs are quickly recovered.

Warranty
Heat-Line products carry 5 year warranties something you will not find with a hardware store heat tape.

Quality/Safety/Reliability
These concepts go hand in hand. There is no substitute for quality and safety and without them there can be no reliability! When fighting winter's brutal grip product designs must be strong, tough and resilient. Every Heat-Line employs only the finest components and technologies and is made in North American.

Customer Service
When you contact Heat-Line you will be greeted with warm and friendly product specialists always willing to help. There is an automated voice messaging system but it is only used after hours or when all phone lines are in use. Heat-Line is an ultra modern business facility operating under basic traditional values. Incredible modern technology, built, sold and supplied under old fashioned values.

Farm and Agriculture Review of Common Concerns

Fire
Almost every farmer we speak with has expressed concern regarding heat tapes and fires in barns.
This concern is well justified as history has shown that quality electrical wiring in barns is essential to fire safety. In fact there are a number of USA publications that explain the dangers of electrical wiring and heat tapes in barns.

Review these publications:
http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/pubs/5045.html
http://www.enid.org/Departments/fire_heatTape.cfm

If you have old heat tapes be sure that they are not insulated and remove and replace them. Chances are, they are NOT designed to be used with insulation. Under all circumstances be sure they are protected with ground fault circuit interrupters.

Heat-Line systems are:
  • Manufactured to meet CSA standards and requirements for Canada and the USA
  • Can be completely insulated for increased energy efficiency
The best way to be sure you have a safe electrical system in your barn is to have a qualified electrician review it. We recommend you inspect all wiring for corrosion and pay special attention to the condition of 120 volt receptacles. Check them for a tight and secure fit by plugging an appliance into them. If they are loose fitting, change them immediately with a good quality replacement. Check your fuse panel for proper fusing. Most branch circuits should be 15 amps. Be sure breakers are clean and dust free. It never hurts to turn all breakers off and on at least once annually.

    Paladin for Pipe Brochure

Heat-Line understands the need for a reliable water supply in severely cold climates.

Retro-Line provides internal protection of the main polyethylene water supply line. In most cases this pipe draws from a well, pond, lake or river. The system is inserted directly into the existing pipe and is provided factory finished with all components required for connection.

EXT5R and Paladin systems provide external freeze protection for metallic and non-metallic pipes throughout the barn whether the pipe is a supply line or drain line. These systems can be used for most applications where freezing may be of concern.

EXT3T systems provide external freeze protection for all metallic and non-metallic pipes in all applications throughout the barn whether the pipe is a supply line or drain line. EXT3T is manufactured with a fluoropolymer protective jacket which can be used safely in environments where organic or inorganic materials may exist around the farm.

Kompensator systems are high quality heating cables designed to work with solar, wind and other modern off grid type power centers. Kompensator systems are 12 volt and 24 volt heating cables which can be installed for freeze-protection applications for water supply pipes and other metallic and non-metallic pipes.

Paladin and EDGE-CUTTER can also be used on valleys, roofline and eaves of buildings to prevent roof ice damming.

For any freeze protection requirement around the farm, ranch, stable or agricultural setting; Heat-Line systems are unrivalled for performance and reliability.
