Product Information The EXT3T heating cable provides reliable external freeze protection and is supplied job-ready for ease of use on all sizes and types of pipes. EXT3T systems employ the unique performance and operating characteristics of self-regulating heating cable technology. The EXT3T cable jacket does not deteriorate when exposed to corrosive, organic or inorganic materials which may be found in buildings such as barns and workshops. EXT3T can be used in a variety of applications including, cottages, homes, resorts and farms. Insulation and a thermostat can be added to the system to ensure increased energy efficiency. Product Application EXT3T systems are designed for use on all existing metallic and non-metallic pipes. Examples include; copper, galvanized, polyethylene, ABS/PVC, sewage lines, forced mains and drain pipes. EXT3T systems are applied on the outside (externally) of the pipe, to provide reliable freeze protection. Traditional style heat tapes must be pitched or spiraled around the pipes in order to apply adequate amounts of heat to un-insulated pipes making them very high in energy consumption. With EXT3T, the heating cable is simply applied longitudinally on all pipes depending on ambient temperature and insulation requirements; reducing overall length of product by as much as 60 percent. When combined with thermal insulation, the amount of heat required is reduced; thereby optimizing energy efficiency.
