Energy Savings
When you are considering the purchase of a cable heating product or heat tape for freeze protection you are probably thinking about first cost of purchase and not the long term affects on your pocket book. Conventional heat trace cable products can be expensive to run from an energy cost point of view. Over the winter months and over the course of many years this can really add up to a lot of money. You don't have a choice in protecting those water pipes from freezing, but you do have a choice purchasing a product that will pay itself back in energy savings over time. Heat-Line products are unique in that they heat in a self regulating way. The cable applies heat where and when it is needed reducing heat applied on the pipe areas where it isn't required and increasing it where it is required. This smart heating technology can reduce your pipe heating costs by as much as 80%! So don't consider Heat-Line products only because they do an excellent job and for their reliability alone... help your bank account and reduce those energy costs year after year with Heat-Line.

Safety
This is definitely something that most people overlook when purchasing heat cable freeze protection. Unlike most heat cable products, Heat-Line will not overheat as it self regulates the amount of heat required on the pipe and reduces the amount of heat from the cable as required to insure that the water never freezes but the cable or pipe never overheats. Because of this safety feature, pipes can be insulated without fear of overheating and this further reduces your heating costs. Maybe one of our customers said it best with this testimonial.

"I owned a resort for many years in Ontario Canada. Our main lodge building and all of our housekeeping cottages used Heat-Line brand cable heating for both internal PVC pressure water pipe heating and external plumbing traps and drain lines that were under the cottages. I built a new three bedroom cottage one season and for some reason decided to use a brand name hardware store heat cable (with thermostat) on the traps and pipe that ran between the cottage and the main septic line. Only a few months later, in the middle of winter, the cottage drains froze up solid. When I investigated, the heat cable I used was the culprit. The cable had overheated and burnt itself out - but only after melting clean through a water trap. I was lucky I didn't burn the place down as there was evidence of fire. It took me all day to repair it and my cottage guests could not use the water. Never again would I use anything but Heat-Line for a pipe freeze protection application. I learned my lesson... and by the way, I hate crawling under a cottage at minus thirty degrees to repair plumbing." M Coles
